The grand vista, on a desk
The small one. Sweeping mainlines, long trains and real landscape in a space the size of a coffee table. Detail is finer to read but the world feels vast.
Est. for the obsessive · Scale model railways
Heritage locomotives, rolling stock and scenery built to museum fidelity — for collectors who notice the rivets, and for newcomers laying their very first length of track.
The first decision
Gauge is the single thing that trips up every newcomer. Pick once and your whole layout follows. Here's the honest version — no jargon, just what fits your space and your eye.

The sweet spot. Big enough to hold real detail in your hand, small enough to build a proper layout in a spare room. The deepest range of stock anywhere.
The global benchmark — vast European and American ranges, precise running, and the same 16.5mm track as OO. The collector's lingua franca.
The big, weighty, deeply satisfying one. Every rivet visible, brass that feels like brass. A statement layout — and the scale collectors return to.

Build your world
The locomotive is only the beginning. The real craft is the world it runs through — the cutting, the station, the dusk light catching a signal. We supply every layer of it, and the patience to go with it.
Plan a layout with usSet-track, flexible track and hand-laid options. Sectional baseboards engineered to stay true for decades.
Static grass, foliage, water effects, rock moulds. The materials museums use, scaled for the kitchen table.
From a single analogue dial to full digital command. Run a fleet, light the carriages, sound the whistle.
Stations, signal boxes, cottages and the tiny people who give a scene its breath. Kit or ready-weathered.
Our heritage
“We are not in the business of toys. We are in the business of belief — the half-second a visitor leans in and forgets the room around the layout is full-size.”
Brassline began at a workbench, with one locomotive rebuilt rivet by rivet because the factory had got the cab wrong. Four decades on, the obsession hasn't softened. Every model we sell is run-in by hand, every brass casting checked against the original works drawings. We chase the detail you'd only notice with a loupe — because we know you'll look.
A 4m OO mainline crossing a 21-arch viaduct, with hand-flocked larch and a working dusk lighting sequence. Two years in the building. Read the full build diary.
